Dr. James H. Zumberge served as the seventh president of Southern Methodist University from 1975 until 1980. Zumberge taught at the University of Michigan, and later at the University of Arizona where he also served as dean. Prior to his tenure as president of SMU, he worked as chancellor at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
